This week’s photo of the week is from Cappadocia, Turkey. This region is synonymous with a landscape that wouldn’t look amiss in a far away planet. The rock formations look like fairy chimneys and are best seen from above. This is also a part of the world that is rich with a history going back centuries. Other notables sites include Bronze Age homes carved into valley walls by troglodytes (cave dwellers). These were later used as refuges by early Christians.
Every morning, hundreds of hot air balloons make their flights across the stunning landscape. But if you are lucky, every now and again as you cross above another balloon you are able to capture this sort of abstract photograph.
