£4,299 per person (1st – 12th May 2020) – Loch Lomond, Glencoe, Isle of Skye

Imagine a land where remote castles perch on hilltops overlooking lochs that are steeped in myth. Where wild coastlines and tranquil beaches exist within a few miles of one another. This is a land with a turbulent past and a rich history. A country forged with sword and blood. But yet beyond the vast wilderness of the highlands lies friendly villages and world class scotch. This Scotland photo tour isn’t just a photographer’s paradise, it is a must for any traveller.

Scotland Photo Tour

This epic 12 day tour starts in the vibrant city of Glasgow before quickly heading into the highlands. Our first stop will be the picturesque Loch Lomond and Kilchurn Castle. From there we move on to the epic scenery of Glencoe before heading towards Cairngorms National Park. After exploring this beautiful national park we head west toward the Isle of Skye. On route, we will photograph Eileen Donan Castle – possibly the most beautiful castle in Scotland – before reaching our main stop on the tour, the Isle of Skye. Scotland Photography Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Glasgow (D)

After arriving in Glasgow you will be picked up from the airport and whisked off to the hotel where you will have a chance to freshen up and relax. After the welcome meeting and orientation, where we will discuss what each guest is looking to achieve, style and preferred subject matter, we will enjoy our first evening meal together.

Day 2 – Glasgow => Loch Lomond (B, L, D)

Our day will start with a drive through the beautiful Scottish countryside to the picturesque Loch Lomond. We will spend the afternoon exploring the tranquil shores of Loch Lomond before stopping to have dinner in a cosy Scottish Inn. Our day will conclude with a sunset shoot at the Loch.

Day 3 – Loch Lomond => Glencoe (B, L, D)

We start our day early by making the short drive to Kilchurn Castle to photograph the stunning scene as the first rays of light appear over the hills and mountains. From there it is another short drive to the epic landscape of Glencoe – an area dotted with beautiful cottages in the shadow of the rugged Three Sisters mountain range where will pick our spot and wait for sunset.

Day 4 – Glencoe (B, L, D)

This morning’s shoot might require an early start, but it will be worth the effort. First up is an early morning shoot at the postcard-perfect Coupall Falls at Etive Mor. Then it is on to the famous Black Rock cottage before heading back to our hotel for a well-earned breakfast. After a few hours rest we head back out to another location for a sunset shoot in Glencoe.

Day 5 – Glencoe => Loch Ness (B, L, D)

After enjoying a delicious breakfast we will drive to the mythical Loch Ness to see if we can get a glimpse of “Nessie”. We will enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Loch before visiting the historic Urquhart Castle. Sitting on the edge of Loch Ness this was the setting of many a battle that forged this nation.

Day 6 – Loch Ness => Eilean Donan Castle (B, L, D)

After a relaxed morning followed by a delicious lunch we drive west to arguably the most beautiful castle in Scotland. The stunning Eilean Donan Castle will be our sunset location where we will wait to capture it in the blue hour when the lights illuminate the castle.

Day 7 – Eilean Donan Castle => Isle Of Skye (B, L, D)

We start the day with an optional sunrise shoot at Eilean Donan Castle before making the short drive over Skye Bridge, otherwise known as the gateway to Skye. After lunch we will spend time photographing the magical Fairy Pools filled with crystal clear water. It is then on to the famous road to Elgol for our sunset location – the fabulous Elgol Bay backed by the Cuillin mountain range.

Day 8 – Isle Of Skye (B, L, D)

After breakfast we will drive to Talisker Bay to photograph the amazing beach with its own waterfall. After a stop at the Talisker Whiskey Distillery it will be time to relax. Late afternoon we will go to photograph Sligachan River and it’s famous bridge sitting proudly in front of the Red Cuillin mountain range. A quick dinner is followed by the drive to Neist Point to photograph its lighthouse under the stars.

Day 9 – Isle Of Skye (B, L, D)

This afternoon involves our most strenuous walk up to photograph the iconic Old Man of Storr at sunset. Therefore, we will spend the morning relaxing and reviewing images at the hotel before our hike in the afternoon.

Day 10 – Isle Of Skye => Glenfinnan => Fort William (B, L, D)

Our final morning on the Isle of Skye will be spent photographing the Quiraing and its amazing landscape at sunrise. We will then begin our drive back south stopping at Glenfinnan to catch the steam train, immortalised in the Harry Potter film, crossing the viaduct. From there it is a short drive to Fort William where we will spend the night.

Day 11 – Fort William => Glasgow (B, L, D)

Our final day together will start after a leisurely breakfast. Then we will begin the drive back to Glasgow arriving in the early afternoon. You will have some free time to explore or shop in this vibrant city before we meet in the evening for our farewell dinner together.

Day 12 – End Of Tour (B)

After breakfast it is time to say our goodbyes and go our separate ways.
