France Lavender Photography Tour – 7 days

Summer in Provence is bursting with the rich colours of blooming purple and blue lavender, bright yellow sunflowers and olive green. Many famous artists have created masterpieces and were inspired by the landscape. With our France lavender photography tour you to will be inspired by this radiant plateau.

Our tour will take us through beautiful landscapes filled with lavender, picture-perfect villages & olive groves. Our France lavender photography tour will be focused on the Valensole plateau, with its vast fields of lavender blooms filled with loan trees and stone barns. Those leading lines just go on forever…..


Why you should come on our France Lavender Photography Tour

The tour is designed to be equally interesting for accomplished photographers as well as beginners. The focus will be primarily on landscape photography; learning to compose, shoot, and edit your Images. We will also spend some time however discovering the local villages learning to shoot portraits, architecture, and street shots in the perfect summer light that only Provence can provide.

Provence is blessed with many beautiful locations. We have selected a varied range of spots all as perfect as the next so you will have a true feel of what Provence is really like. With our vast knowledge of the area, we will make sure you are in the right spot and the right time of day to capture the image you want.

France Lavender Photography Tour

Day 1 – Provence (no meals)

We will meet at our stunning Provence villa where we will base ourselves for the coming week. Our sunset shoot will be on the lavender fields of Valensole.


Day 2 – Valensole (B)

We start the day by capturing the sunrise in the lavender fields surrounding Valensole. After that, we will spend the morning exploring the plateau as the morning light changes the patterns and possible compositions at every corner. After lunch, we will discuss our workflow and editing before heading back out to capture the lavender fields in the soft afternoon light and sunset at an iconic lavender field.


Day 3 – Gordes/Senaque Abbey (B)

We set off nice and early to capture the sunrise over at Gordes before making the short drive to the stunning lavender lined fields surrounding Senaque Abbey. After lunch, we will head back to capture more of the iconic and lesser-known lavender fields on the plateau.


Day 4 – Rousillon/Moustiers-Sainte-Marie (B)

We will capture the sunrise over the colourful town of Rousillon perched high above the valley on a sandstone base. We will then take some time to explore the unbelievably pretty streets of the town. After lunch, we head to the prettiest village in France, Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. We will explore the picturesque streets and enjoy the views of the Gorge du Verdon followed by a sunset vista over Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.


Day 5 – Bonnieux/Lacoste (B)

Today’s sunrise is in one of the lavender fields leading towards the town of Bonnieux. After sunrise, we have time to explore the streets and castles of Bonnieux and Lacoste. After lunch, we make the short journey to Avignon to photograph this ancient city. We will hang around for the sunset reflection of the city in the Rhone.


Day 6 – Sault/Provence (B)

This morning we head to the lavender fields with perfect leading lines to the town above of Sault. We will capture starburst images as the sunrise before making our way into town to photograph this typical Provence town. The afternoon we will spend photographing the picturesque market towns in Provence. With its grand architecture, food and flower markets you can get lost for hours in Aix beautiful streets.


Day 7 – End of Tour (B)

The last day of France’s lavender photography tour will end with an optional final sunrise shoot in the plateau lavender fields. After breakfast, we will say our goodbyes and go our separate ways.

Prices quoted are for single occupancy. If you are travelling with someone else and would like a double or twin room please contact us.


Single Supplement

There is no single supplement cost for these workshops.


£500 to reserve your spot. The total cost of this workshop is £2,299. A balance of £1,699 will be due 120 days prior to the trip.


NOTE: There must be a minimum of 5 people registered for the tour. Do not book your flights until we inform you that we’ve reached the minimum number of people.

Tour Leader: Jordan Banks

Jordan Banks is a travel, landscape and adventure photographer from London with over 20 years experience shooting assignments and hi-end content for the travel, tourism, lifestyle brands and companies. Through the years his work has taken him to over 100 countries and provided him with the opportunity to shoot some of the world’s most interesting and diverse locations and festivals. His clients over the years have included; Lonely planet, British Airways, National Geographic Traveller, The Times, Vogue, Panasonic, Microsoft, Ford and many more.

*Please note that from time to time, we might need to change the tour leader due to illness or unforeseen circumstance. You can rest assured that you will still be accompanied by an experienced professional photographer.


Group Size

The group size for this photo tour is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 guests.


Experience

This photo tour is ideal for beginner, amateur, enthusiast and semi-pro photographers but even non-photographers are welcome on this tour.


Difficulty

Although for most locations there will be some walking involved, these will be short and easy. So if you are in good health and fitness level, you will be fine. This tour is NOT recommended for people with mobility issues.

Equipment

You don’t need expensive or professional equipment for this photo tour. We would recommend DSLR or mirrorless cameras and a tripod for this tour.


Meals

For this tour, we have not included meals such as lunches and dinners. Self-service breakfast will be available at the villa.


Transport

Whilst in France we will be travelling via a private air-conditioned mini-bus driven by a licenced and insured driver.
