Whether you are a complete beginner, or just want to push your photography to the next level, you will be sure to find the help you need. We have split our learning experiences into workshops and tours to cater for different levels and interests. Workshops are generally held in one location and involve specific learning tasks. Photo tours involve travelling to multiple destinations on a trip covering a wider area of photography. From time to time we also offer FREE photo walks ranging from a few hours to a full day.

Let us tell you about That Wild Idea. We are Kav Dadfar and Jordan Banks and we created this company for people who want to learn or improve their photography. So if you have ever been disappointed by your photos, have a question, or are even a complete beginner then you’ve come to the right place.
We have worked as professional travel and landscape photographers for years and we are often asked the same questions by aspiring photographers. Many face the same issues, difficulties and often have the same fears. That Wild Idea started so we could help people like you be able to use their cameras better and to ultimately take better photos. Whether you choose video tutorials, blogs, classroom learning, workshops or even tours, you’ll be sure to find something to help you on your photographic journey.

Why Us?
We know that there are hundreds of sites out there teaching photography. There are also lots of photographers offering workshops and photo tours. So what makes us different?
The first thing is that we are both working photographers. Between us, we have photographed everything from restaurants and food to weddings and hotel rooms. Oh, and not to mention some of the most beautiful places in the world. Our photos have appeared on the front covers of magazines and guidebooks around the world such as National Geographic, Lonely Planet and many more.

But what makes That Wild Idea really different from everyone else, is that our photo tours and workshops are actually created specifically for photography. We don’t just take regular tourist tours and wrap them up as photography tours. Every itinerary is bespoke and designed by professional photographers to go to places that will give stunning photos.
